About the blog: They eavesdrop on our conversations in parks. They walk beside us to work. From presidents to poets, war heroes to dentists – DC is home to hundreds of sculptures and each has a unique story to tell. District of Sculpture blog aims to explore the sculptures and outdoor art of greater DC through images and anecdotes. In doing so, I hope to make the marble move - so that as you pass them, you don’t let them pass you by!
About the Author, Julie Flygare: I am a writer, photographer, and art-fanatic. I graduated from Brown University in 2005, with a B.A. in the History of Art and Architecture. In 2009, I received my J.D. from Boston College Law School, focusing on art law and health policy. Since moving to DC, I’ve been discovering art in every nook and cranny.Curious about a particular sculpture? Let me know and I will try to feature your favorites on my blog.

Love this post and the excercise. I look forward to a book of your sculpture photos and comments. You make us aware of the art around us.
Thank you!
